Mawabu is very much a family lodge, enjoyed for decades by its members, their families and friends.

The lodge was built by the Foundation Members in 1963 and has remained true to its family origins since that time.

The members of Mawabu continue to be involved in the maintenance and running of the club with many of these members having a long history with the club, being either themselves Foundation Members or the children of Foundation Members.

The Club is proud of its heritage and has amongst its ranks some notable members.

Mawabu was originally formed to promote the sport of skiing.The benefit associated with membership is the enjoyment of skiing in a friendly and family oriented environment.

The atmosphere of the Lodge is one of family enjoyment and interaction; card games, board games and charades often featuring in the evening's entertainment and are regularly accompanied by a quiet chat amongst friends over a convivial glass of wine.

Mawabu is very well run with safety being a priority within the lodge. The Board of Directors are very strict about complying with all regulations of the National Parks and Wildlife Service.

Members and guests can be comfortable in the knowledge that they are accommodated in a safe, secure and comfortable lodge.

The club is administered by a board of directors with the principal office bearers being the President (Chairman), Secretary and Treasurer.

The board meets on the second Tuesday of each month, with the exception of January.

Mawabu's Constitution restricts the number of members but families wishing to consider membership should contact the club.
